Public Speaking (Summer 2019)/Speaker Bio

When presenting a speech, venues will often ask for brief description that can be published beforehand. You will be submitting a statement that details your background, relevant experience with a Knowledgeable Topics topic, and what makes you stand out compared to others who could speak about a similar topic.

Requirements[edit]

In no more than 100 words, your speaker bio must:

  • touch on your background
  • list your experience with the topic
  • explain why you are more capable than others to speak on this topic

William Salt Hale, is a Seattle local who studies Technology and Society at the University of Washington (UW) Department of Communication. He attends, organizes, and speaks worldwide at: conferences, conventions, events, festivals, and faires; on various topics including: communication, crowdmatching, internet technologies, linux, music, sci-fi/fantasy, security, and windsports. Salt is very approachable and will always be found wearing a kilt.
