- Discuss the assignment and its rationale
- View a number of advocacy speeches, outlining and flowing them in small groups
- Brainstorm potential topics in small groups and examine their merits and shortcomings
- Research and discuss stock issues and how they might support your claims
- Discuss calls to action and how they can advance your cures
