  • Preparation:
  1. Read the advocacy speech assignment description
  2. Watch [sample student]() advocacy speech
  3. Create list of five topics that you are passionate about
  4. Watch [scope of persuasion in a single speech]()
  5. Review [list of arrangement models]()
  • Activities:
  1. Discuss the assignment and its rationale
  2. View a number of advocacy speeches, outlining and flowing them in small groups
  3. Brainstorm potential topics in small groups and examine their merits and shortcomings
  4. Research and discuss stock issues and how they might support your claims
  5. Discuss calls to action and how they can advance your cures
