You can make a new Gitea account by reaching out to any of the site administrators: the [[People#Faculty | PIs]], Matt Gaughan (@mgaughan:matrix.org on [[Matrix]]), or Carl Colglazier (@carl:chat.carl.cx on [[Matrix]]). To make a new account for you, administrators will need your email address and what username you would like to use on Gitea.

Gitea administrators can create new accounts for other users through the Gitea web interface. Select "Site Administration" from the drop-down menu that is displayed when clicking on the user icon in the top right of the screen. From the "Admin Settings" menu,  open "Identity and Access", then selecting "User Accounts". These steps should lead you to viewing the full roster of all accounts on the Gitea instance. Click the the "Create User Account" button in the top right of the roster dialogue. Populate the new account with the relevant email and username; provide a placeholder password and select the "Require user to change password" checkbox. "Create User Account" and voila!
