::I mass-delete the spam 1-2 types a week. Spam is pretty intense but it's doesn't stick around for long and it's not too much work to delete it. I just don't really get around to it every day. I'm a little hesitant to block new page creation since it is something that still happens routinely by non-admins. - Yes, all is fine - I was able to edit the page, but only after modifying an abuse filter that blocked all edits to it (even by admins), see my note at Special:AbuseFilter/7.
- I did some spam cleanup myself afterwards, but clearly it's an ongoing issue. Have you considered limiting page creation to admins? Happy to help implement this if you think it makes sense.
